Ok, after spending a LOT, the car is fixed. I hope I can drive it for a while before needing to trade it in or selling privately. I'm exhausted, it took up the entire time my mom and step dad were away on their trip. I have one more shift at the extra job today, then it is a wrap. Ultimately, I am glad to get the experience on my resume but 6 days a week was too much. I should've just done Fridays for the whole time, I don't think they would have cared that I didn't give them 16 hours a week. They're not renewing anyone's contracts, and are switching to mobile/community clinics and I don't want to drive out there in the colder months right now, anyway. So after today, I am done!! Maybe I will treat myself this weekend to a nice drive, or something small and sweet!

Thanksgiving Time - Tuesday 4!
Thanksgiving Time
Welcome to Tuesday 4 begun by Toni Taddeo and kept up in her memory.
Here is an old one from Toni's blog from 2019 about Thanksgiving time:
1. What is your favorite Thanksgiving show/animated show?: - Oh, I don't know. Canadian Thanksgiving doesn't have particular shows per se :/ I would choose a movie I love and enjoy it - so uhhh Love is All You Need? Maybe a Thanksgiving episode of a show, like Fraiser or something? I don't even know.
2. What is there about Thanksgiving you like the best: the food, the family. We used to take road trips to Ottawa to see my family, and I loved those trips. But now the family stuff is stressful, so it really is the food.
3. Favorite Thanksgiving/holiday song?: White Christmas is my favourite holiday movie but I love Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and a soca song called the Paintbrush - hilarious song about a man essentially sleeping with his neighbour.
4. If you have an all holiday music radio station when do you start listening to it?: The first snowfall, I play White Christmas !!! And for music, some time in November? But again, Canadian Thanksgiving is just so different!

Tuesday Four - Home is Where the Heart Is
Home is Where The Heart Is
Welcome to Tuesday 4, Toni Taddeo's once weekly questionnaire...
This week's topic is home
1.What makes a house a home? - the people inside it, and the level of comfort of those who live there!!
2. How to you keep your house neat , tidy and clean? Do you find it difficult? - uh, I share the house. So my room is messy, but the rest of the house is usually way tidier. I do find it really tough to keep clean, sigh!!
3.Are plants important in your home.. or collections.. or wall art? Is there a theme you like to create? - my mom loves plants, so there are a ton. Definitely lots of wall art since my step dad is an artist. I love my TV in my room, lol. But in my own home, definitely I will keep up some artwork on the wall, but 0 plants!
4.What is a typical day/evening like in your home? - depends on my mom's mood. If she is relaxed, we all are - if she isn't, good luck!! After work I want to come home and relax really. She is retired so her days go differently, but evenings usually we wind down, sometimes we watch Antiques Roadshow or whatever is on PBS if we're all into it.

Drawing A Line in the Sand
A line has been drawn! Are you vaxxed, or unvaxxed? Ontario is releasing vaccine passports as of Sept 22, and I have some friends without the vaccine. I know not everyone will be getting it, and while I want everyone to get it, what can I do? I just hope that folks stay safe, read the right sources and make decisions that keep them safe. I find there are just too many selfish folks out there. Otherwise, August wrapped up nicely, and I have some shifts this week and a few other weeks in the future at my part time gig. Work is moving along as well.
I recently came in to a little extra $$, so it is in my savings right now - otherwise, I have a wedding today, and then it's back into work mode until our next long weekend. Even the few hundred from the pt job will be banked for whatever is needed. Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

Summer Rolls Along
I recovered from my cold from hell, and went back to work this week *sigh* work is busy, and that is good. My best friend got engaged, and now I feel sad because .... yeah. I don't want to say why it makes me sad out loud, I am just hoping sitting with the feelings gives me perspective. I am very excited for them, and look forward to celebrating etc!!! I went to a lavender farm today with my friend, we had a nice picnic and it felt really nice to get out of the city. Literally the next few Saturdays are about weddings and babies for me, so I think it's all just making me feel bummed. Hopefully once this stuff passes, I will feel better about stuff.
My friend and I are leaving the city for a couple nights at the end of August, so that will be loads of fun too. I picked up some end of day sushi, and I am going to work away on my resume tonight and tomorrow! :)

My Week Off
The good news is my main job is closed this week, and I don't see myself getting shifts at the 2nd job for the rest of August, or even September. I gave them availability way too late, and I am not sorry about it. My main job suffered, and it is hectic on the best of days. But I have it on the resume now, so hopefully I can get one more shift and print off a letter stating I worked for them. Wish I had thought of that my last shift...
I caught what I hope is a wicked cold, but did go and get Covid tested - I went to one crowded event, didn't sleep well, went out the next day etc - so a lot of reasons for it to be Covid unfortunately. The symptoms are so similar - and I am double vaxxed. Sigh! Hopefully I am negative and I can enjoy the rest of my week off :( How is everyone otherwise?!
