Not So Funny How Things Workout

 My friend's bachelorette party was a success. As I suspected, she would NOT want to get ready for dinner with 30 mins prep time in the washroom of the pole dancing studio 😐 (the other bridesmaid who suggested the aforementioned plan was glad I suggested the hotel room overnight LOL) A grand time was had by all. Unfortunately, my friend's dad is now dealing with health issues and that is clouding the joy that comes with getting married. My friend just got a new job in January as well, and if she isn't working, she is planning the wedding, and now dealing with her dad's health. When she got her prior job, her mom ended up getting a major health diagnosis as well, and it seems this is to be the same thing. I feel for my friend, sigh. We discussed that it is the same situation again, just with her dad now. 

We had a lot of snow, the garage door froze again, and my mom and step dad had to force the door open every day of the week except for today, lol. I would fix it, but my mom likes things done in her own way and she would rather walk around the house to get access when it is convenient for her. Maybe one day she will need to get in, the door will be frozen, and that is when she will get upset enough to get it fixed. No one else's on the street freezes, just ours! Annoying. Today, I am hoping to maybe go to the grocery, but if I don't - I don't mind too much. Sending love to everyone, especially Sam, Kim, Hilogene and T'Pol (who lost family in the Earthquake and is I am sure dealing with a LOT otherwise)

Busy Busy Me!

 Well, the wedding passed and I got last weekend to relax. This week, I worked, saw my cousin from out of twon (who is in town, ha!) twice, saw friends last night, and kept on the planning of the bachelorette of my bestie - along with helping her make small decisions about our hotel room for the wedding, and booking her haircut/dye appt for her LOL. I love helping out. I am bummed though, as my bestie's cousin just texted me to say she cannot come to the bachelorette. 👎👎 Now, this cousin let us use her Disney+ for free, and has had a difficult life. So my friend holds her dearly in her heart. But she didn't come to the bridal shower and now she is not even coming to the bachelorette (and I paid for her spot - there's $40 gone). My friend is going to be disappointed, because she definitely was not happy when her cousin missed the shower 🥲 

All the while life goes on for me, I think of Kim, Sam, and Hilogene and their lives unfolding so differently than how they anticipated. Send them all love, and anyone who stops here love as well.

One Down, One to Go!

 MY sister's wedding is finished, and it was a success!! Stressful but a success. We had some issues and I hope it is now in the past, but we shall see. It was incredibly stressful for me and I wasn't that involved!

My friend is getting married in 5 weeks, and that is less stressful. Except my friend is particular and now we've been discussing shawls for two weeks plus !! And I have a white shawl from my sister's wedding, and now my friend wants to ask her fiancee like ? Why would he care if I match exactly to the other bridesmaids. It's frustrating, we have other expenses in regards to the wedding and spending $20+ on something I won't wear again is really annoying. Why can't you just say yes or no? In 10 years us matching is not going to even be a thought. Sorry, this is the only place I can vent in peace!

In the meanwhile, we are in a deep deep freeze here today. MY garage door is temperamental and I hope it works tomorrow, ugh. I want to change the mechanism!! SO far only one of the bins has been emptied for the day, I will drag them to the top of the driveway but have little hope the door will open. Happy Weekend all!

This week the subject is Your Home .

1. What kind of home do you have and does it need repair or improvements this year? - I live in my mom's bungalow. I want a new garage door opener, because ours stops working in the winter! Got a firm no on that. I hope we don't need any repairs so far.

2. How do you accessorize your home inside and out?    Plants, art, books, wall hangings, maybe music in the background? - We have paintings, and plants,and we love music. My mom also gardens, so we have rose bushes and tulips come summer time!

3. What objects reside on your coffee table? Night stand? Side tables? Kitchen/Dining table?  - Oh, so many things. I have books, our cellphones, thins for the kids to play with! My dining table is a mess right now, covered in gifts and other assorted things - I say mess means it is lived in, my mom would disagee.  

 

4.  Do you like your kitchen organized and with counters cleared off or do you prefer to have  the things you use often out on counters?     Do you mind  what some might see as clutter or do you hate having to dig out tools and appliances  when it comes time to use them? and prefer to have them within easy reach?

It is usually clean, but important items like spoons etc are on the counters, along with the toaster oven and microwave respectively. My mom also has jars of almonds, prunes, and other munchies on one counter, and we have some other stuff like containers on the other counter! 

Funny enough, when my mom and stepdad travel, the counters stay clean L O L. But can't tell her that! 

Countdown is ON!

 A week from today, my youngest sister will be getting married. Now, I will be the only person in my immediate family without a partner/spouse. Fun. Oh well, it is what it is!

 I saw that another blogger has lost their spouse, Sam @ Sam, Coffee, Money and Thyme. It breaks my heart, as Kim also lost her husband at Christmas and another commenter Hilogene lost her husband as well. I am so sad for all these lovely ladies. They share so much with us and are so supportive towards each other :( sending love to Sam, Kim and Hilogene. I may not always comment but I read the blogs and follow along closely. ♥️

 Back so soon?  Well, weeks fly by it seems. Welcome to Tuesday 4 in memory of Toni Taddeo it's first host and founder.

How about the subject of Hollywood, it's 'stars', its products and it's affect on the world?

1.  Which of the big movie stars of the past were your favorites? why? -oh I like Jimmy Stewart, just for It's a Wonderful Life alone, and Gene Kelly seemed swell. Princess Grace, amazing, and Vera Ellen as well (basically I just love White Christmas!)

2. Of the 'Blockbusters', which do you think is the all time greatest? Which was one you would see again? - I watch White Christmas every.single.year !!!! And that is all I need, tbh.

3.  Are you up on the latest Hollywood gossip? What interests you or alternatively why doesn't it interest you? Oh I LOVE celebrity gossip. It's just so fascinating? I am into gossip, tbh and it's just a curiosity!

4.  /Some movies, plays had a big impact on people.  Orson Welles radio performance of War of the Worlds caused havoc including suicides and accidents.   Is there a movie that you were greatly influenced or affected by? - nothing sticks out to me, but I do have movies that I enjoy rewatching because they touch my heart - like Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and Love Is All You Need, When Harry Met Sally.

TIme is Flying

 My sister's bachelorette is tomorrow. I hope it all goes well, there is so much drama, I am over it and cannot stand it. I feel badly, but I have not a lot of joy left to give. There is just too much going on, and my mom and sisters have all gotten into one tiff or another :/ I hope it can make it to the wedding without any more fights, it has done a number on me. SIGH! 

 IN other news, my boss wants me to go in some Fridays and not get paid extra, just take two hours off early on a different day :/! So if I go in Friday for 2 hours, I will take off two hours early on a different day. I'll have to discuss it more with him, I would rather he just pay me 36 hours a week and cover the additional 4 hours that way but he is cutting down on work so yeah :/ smh. Meanwhile today is a snowy day, and I am watching Youtube clips and not being very productive. Pray that we all survive this bachelorette tomorrow!!!
