Looking Back - Tuesday 4

Looking back...

Hello friends and once again welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.   I am so happy to have people joining in and making this so much fun.

1. What music were your parents listening to when you were a kid?  Does that music bring back memories for you? - I think they listened to calpyso, and old school motown etc - Trinidad had a lot of 90s music playing on the radio which I lovedddd.

2. What was your favorite meal and beverage as a teenager?  Is it still or have things changed for you? - I don't think I had a favourite meal as a teenager? I really cannot think. I DO love vienna sausages though, and will eat them if I have the chance but they're over $1 a tin so it's been a rare treat in the last few years for sure.

3. As a teen did you live in a city, country, small town?  What was it like for you there.   Tell us about your hometown please? - I lived in a city, a suburb of Toronto per se. I liked it, summers were just me playing on the computer until I was old enough to go out with friends, one summer I did some volunteer, another my cousin came up from Trinidad and we had a huge power outage LOL. As a hometown, Toronto is amazing because there is so much to do and see, if I had been industrious enough to get a job during school, I'd have really been set. Sigh!

4. Would you like to live in your hometown today? Why or why not? I would love to keep living here, but it is so expensive. I hope to do so though. I don't think I would move back to Trinidad unless I was really really well off though! I'm a big city gal for the most part.

Happy Weekend!

The sun is out, F1 is in Montreal (I am not) and I am hoping for a nice relaxing weekend. My sisters hung out last night BUT I did not go. I mentioned they were having some strife in their relationship, so I decided last night not to go. Hopefully, it went well. My sister didn't get home until very late, haha! She and her fiancee are staying with us as she has a new job in the city. My catphew (her cat, my cat nephew) is loving our place, but he unfortunately got into trouble on Wednesday!

He decided he wanted to go into our neighbour's backyard, and he wouldn't come back for anything! So my sister got out the hose and got him inside. Subsequently, we have a sad cat sitting around, desperately trying to get outside LOL. I feel badly for him, but we cannot let him explore anymore. I told everyone not to do it, but no one listens to me! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Tuesday 4 - Summertime!

♬ ♫ Summertime and the Living is Easy. ♩ ♪

Hey.. you're back!  Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 where we just want you to meet new folks and get to know the ones you already know a bit better. Besides, it gives you something to blog about too.

This week let's talk about Summertime.

1. What gave you the most fun in summer as a kid or as an adult?

As a kid, summer was about playing video games, and seeing friends (that's all I remember) and now as an adult, Caribana is my #1 joy in the summer, along with seeing family and friends! And drinks on the patio.

2. Does summer heat get to you? How do you cope? - yes, at night my feet get so hot it is the worst. I sleep with the fan on, or try and cool my feet down before sleeping. I also try to obviously dress for the weather too!!

3.  Do you have summertime foods and drinks you really enjoy eating?   Does your menu change in summer? I love cherries in the summertime, and I guess more BBQ? Watermelon shows up a lot too, but I wouldn't say I see huge changes in my menu/foods I eat. But I could do with a fancy ice cream now...

4. Do you enjoy sitting outside or on the porch in summertime?  How about some photos of where you enjoy being in summer. I do like being outside, but Toronto heat does not always allow for you to enjoy sitting outside - so hot and thick, like being in warm jello. We do have a pool however, so once it gets super warm I know it'll be busy. My mom and step dad love to do coffee in the AM on our front porch though.

June is for Birthdays!

June is for birthdays around here - mine just recently passed :) I had some folks over to celebrate just last night 😁 otherwise, I have been so tired. Since I had Covid, I have been feeling super tired, not sleeping well and just been very low energy. I am doing some blood work on Tuesday just to see if anything can be determined. I took an afternoon nap today, and that helped some but I can't very well nap every day around 2, haha.

Work is busy, which is a blessing and a curse. People want a lot done, and there just are not infinite resources. Ontario had an election and re-elected the same dude, he stinks, we're all in trouble. Sigh! It is getting warmer however, so I am glad for that. Wishing everyone well, I am seeing some blogs wrap their time up - Marksgran, Tania - you're missed! I love reading everyone's blogs, even if I don't post too often

Blowing Off the Dust (Again!)

It's been a while, ya'll. I am here, reading blogs! I just haven't posted. However, things have improved somewhat in my li!fe. ...
