Thanksgiving Time - Tuesday 4!

Thanksgiving Time

Welcome to Tuesday 4 begun by Toni Taddeo and kept up in her memory.

Here is an old one from Toni's blog  from 2019  about Thanksgiving time:

About Thanksgiving

1.   What is your favorite Thanksgiving show/animated show?: - Oh, I don't know. Canadian Thanksgiving doesn't have particular shows per se :/ I would choose a movie I love and enjoy it - so uhhh Love is All You Need? Maybe a Thanksgiving episode of a show, like Fraiser or something? I don't even know.

2.   What is there about Thanksgiving you like the best: the food, the family. We used to take road trips to Ottawa to see my family, and I loved those trips. But now the family stuff is stressful, so it really is the food.

3.   Favorite Thanksgiving/holiday song?: White Christmas is my favourite holiday movie but I love Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and a soca song called the Paintbrush - hilarious song about a man essentially sleeping with his neighbour.

4.   If you have an all holiday music radio station when do you start listening to it?: The first snowfall, I play White Christmas !!! And for music, some time in November? But again, Canadian Thanksgiving is just so different!

Car Problems!

My car has been driving oddly- jerking, shuddering etc, feeling weird. I finally got it assessed - and it is apparently the transmission. UGH! So I take it to possibly get the fluid changed, only to hear the guy say he won't be doing that - or my whole car would just stop working. UGH, again! So for the whole week, I have just had ideas about what the hell I am supposed to do about it all, swirling around in my mind. I am taking it in on Monday to get another diagnostic run. The dealership is useless, as I have passed the 5 year or 100,000 k warranty. Hopefully I can get it fixed and keep it for a while longer. It's only 5 years old and 140,000 kms. Very annoying.

Tuesday Four - Home is Where the Heart Is

Home is Where The Heart Is

Welcome to Tuesday 4, Toni Taddeo's once weekly questionnaire...

 This week's topic is home

1.What makes a house a home? - the people inside it, and the level of comfort of those who live there!!

2. How to you keep your house neat , tidy and clean? Do you find it difficult? - uh, I share the house. So my room is messy, but the rest of the house is usually way tidier. I do find it really tough to keep clean, sigh!!

3.Are plants important in your home.. or collections.. or wall art?  Is there a theme you like to create? - my mom loves plants, so there are a ton. Definitely lots of wall art since my step dad is an artist. I love my TV in my room, lol. But in my own home, definitely I will keep up some artwork on the wall, but 0 plants!

4.What is a typical day/evening like in your home? - depends on my mom's mood. If she is relaxed, we all are - if she isn't, good luck!! After work I want to come home and relax really. She is retired so her days go differently, but evenings usually we wind down, sometimes we watch Antiques Roadshow or whatever is on PBS if we're all into it.

Thank you for joining in and again, feel free to contribute questions or themes if you like. Leave suggestions in comments.

Drawing A Line in the Sand

A line has been drawn! Are you vaxxed, or unvaxxed? Ontario is releasing vaccine passports as of Sept 22, and I have some friends without the vaccine. I know not everyone will be getting it, and while I want everyone to get it, what can I do? I just hope that folks stay safe, read the right sources and make decisions that keep them safe. I find there are just too many selfish folks out there. Otherwise, August wrapped up nicely, and I have some shifts this week and a few other weeks in the future at my part time gig. Work is moving along as well.

I recently came in to a little extra $$, so it is in my savings right now - otherwise, I have a wedding today, and then it's back into work mode until our next long weekend. Even the few hundred from the pt job will be banked for whatever is needed. Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

Blowing Off the Dust (Again!)

It's been a while, ya'll. I am here, reading blogs! I just haven't posted. However, things have improved somewhat in my li!fe. ...
