Covid Has Arrived At Home

Well, it finally made its way in here. After over 2 years, 9 doses of vaccines between us 3, me going to work at medical places etc. And where did it come from, do you ask? A RESTAURANT ! My step dad's daughter turned 9, and they all went out to eat. 48 hours later, my mom, his daughter and son in law all felt like sh!t. Why no one told my mom that other people felt bad/had Covid I don't know... But last night she finally did another rapid and it was +. She did one Tuesday, but honestly I wondered yesterday if it had even been done right. Either way, here we are. I am wearing a mask every time I go around her, and my step dad who is now having to stay inside.

I work for an Ortho, I cannot miss work again. I am going to go in briefly on Monday, and then probably stay away until Wednesday. I feel fine. It's upsetting because my step dad has daughters who are blind. One daughter has an MRI Monday - and the concern is getting her to her appointment. Which I can appreciate, but at the same time my concern is for my MOM and my step dad really. He is 82, you should NOT be relying on him for these appointments anymore, especially during a pandemic. Take a cab, figure it out. His other daughter who MOST LIKELY HAS COVID, is saying "life needs to go on, if you test negative sunday night you can go Monday" Just, buzz OFF. This is exactly why people continue to get sick! We are not in anything remotely normal, I am lucky to have test kits and masks because I have been hoarding and ordered sooo many masks. I am just hoping my mom continues to improve and I don't get sick. Thank god it's Easter coming up this week.

    2. Oh I thought it was just the family. Wishing you a fast recovery too. Please rest and drink tons of water. Are you taking vitamins B-12, C and D?

  2. I agree with TPol about the vitamins. I bought them ahead of time "just in case" (C, D3, Zinc, Magnesium, Quercitin and NAC if I remember right). Not sure if they helped or not or if I was just lucky enough to have a pretty mild case. Fingers crossed for your family (and you of course)!
