Phew!

Anxiety is a b!tch. My first few shifts were fine, I am ok. Thank you for your support. Now, it's just to see if I want to commute 1 hr round trip twice a weekend for the next few months. We will see, BUT it is now on my resume. My sister in law came over with the kids this week - she and my brother are really going through it, and they needed a break. I am tired, but a loss of sleep for me means a much needed breather for their relationship - and I love them and want to see them happy.

My main job is getting hectic, surgeries are coming back on board this month - wish me luck. I hope everyone is ok out there. Also, I got my 2nd dose yesterday - they moved me up 😁😁

  1. It's a feast or a famine isn't it! Work's too quiet - then there's too much work! But I'm glad your new job went well. And well done for trying to help your brother and SIL out when they probably most need it!

  2. Pleased you've had your second vaccination. Well done on helping th family out. We all need a break from time to time. Yes anxiety can be crippling, I know when we (Immigration) was forced to join HMRC (Customs) by the government, the training was awful. The mock court cases, giving evidence etc Plus we were told NO PASS...NO JOB. Lots of my colleagues retired early or moved dept as they hated it. I found I had to sit a rationalise the process.

    1. I was so glad to get it too, and hopefully more folks will do so in the coming months. Anxiety is the worst, now I can just get on and do the job. That merge sounds awful from the training standpoint. This job training was very short before you went live with it!

  3. Ugh. Anxiety! I hear you. I try to remember a meme I have on my iPad - 'Your anxiety is lying to you'. It's true, but hard to remember when you're in the anxious moment. But I'm glad the new job is working out for you, despite a commute. As you say, see how it goes, but it does sound like it's worth it (in other aspects). And well done for helping out your family - hopefully all will be well there! xx

    1. That meme is RIGHT!!!! Anxiety is a big ol' liar. Despite the commute, the extra $$ is good. By July I am officially there for 3 months (they hired me in April just didn't start til May), so if the timing is not right anymore, I think I will make another decision then. My family really needed the help, it has been tough for them with the two kids under 3!
